 contains Charlemagne, Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire. The branch descending  from Odin Freothalaf contains William the Conquorer.  Relatives of ours bearing  names such as KELLEY, KLECKLEY, HICKS, WAGSTER, and others, will find those  lineages traced back several hundred years.

SOURCES:                                                                      Much of the information on our HICKS FAMILY British lineage (from the 14th  Century) and early American lineage came from the research of my uncle, George  Edward Hicks. A lot of the post 1800 information on the KELLEY FAMILY came from  the book, Macon County Life, by Dean Fowler. The majority of the information on  the KLECKLEY FAMILY (after the mid 18th Century) came from research coordinated  by my great-aunt, Laverne Edwards. Information on the Kleckley lineage of  ELINOR ROSALYN SMITH CARTER, wife of PRESIDENT JAMES  EARL (JIMMY) CARTER came  from the family tree of J. Holcomb (see our entry on Jacob Kleckley for web  address). Most other information (including all pre 14th Century entries) was  researched by myself using various genealogical and family tree websites,  historical texts and various family history documents (specific sources are  listed throughout this website along with the lineages to which they pertain.   Research on the VESTAL FAMILY (which can be found on the website MARSHA`S  BIOLOGICAL FAMILY) was done by Marsha and myself, using information gathered  from the Mormon Geneological Library, the state of Indiana, and the state of  Illinois.
